BIOGRAPHY![]() Early on in little league other parents would always tell my parents that I should play professional baseball someday. I was lucky in that I had a great arm from the get go. It was my recognition and identity as a kid. It carried on later in high school as I got my first taste of scouts coming around to check me out. I ended up going to college and attended Rio Hondo College, Fullerton JC, and finally Pepperdine University on a scholarship. I had been drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates the year before but turned them down to attend Pepperdine. After only 1 year with Pepperdine, I signed with the Oakland A's, having coming up through the organization with Canseco and McGwire. I broke into the bigs in 1986. I went on to play for the San Fransisco Giants and ended up in the World Series in 1989. I was lucky enough to hit a 3 run home run in game 3 that year of the series. I also played ball in Japan at the end of my career in 1991 and 1992 after signing a big contract overseas. During my career I also played winter ball in Mexico and Venezuela.
